Responsible for the management of technical staff, services and standards, quality and cost-effectiveness of all relevant activities. 

 

We are seeking an Supervisor, Technical Services for our Toxicology department site located in Laval (Greater Montreal area) in Canada.

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Supervisor, Technical Services Toxicology :

  Coach, train and support employees to ensure maximum efficiency of teams and resolve more challenging issues; Schedule work of departmental staff to maximize efficiency and productivity; Write and review Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs); Oversee the training process of all staff; Provide performance appraisal and development opportunities for staff members; Ensure that expenditure of all resources is as cost effective as possible; Ensure that the working environment is safe; Ensure that the equipment is appropriately maintained and calibrated, according to departmental and manufacturer’s schedules and procedures, when needed; Ensure that the procedures and equipment comply with GLP requirements where applicable; Manage time effectively; Remain informed on job related standards and developments through self-education and external training; Substitute and/or assist department colleagues; Perform technical work when required; Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be required.

 

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Supervisor, Technical Services Toxicology position :

  Minimum, Collegial Diploma in technical laboratories or equivalent; Experience in staff management is an asset; Experience in a GLP compliant organization is an asset; Reading and writing of English is required, bilingualism is preferable; Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; Detail oriented and meticulous; Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change; Work schedule requires flexibility as per job requirements; Excellent ability to efficiently manage people, time and resource; Demonstrated leadership ability.
