Principal Systems Engineer, Storage

Parexel Enterprise Infrastructure is seeking a motivated Storage Engineer to join our global team. This person will be 100% remote working from anywhere in the Eastern time zone. The engineer provides support, implementation and design for storage systems across the enterprise. Primary responsibilities include managing both internal corporate infrastructure and customer-facing solutions, analyzing the environment to ensure we are meeting retention requirements and providing top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives. You will become part of a diligent team of engineers that deliver infrastructure solutions to host mission critical applications.

Key Accountabilities:Own root cause analysis and problem management for storage infrastructureIdentify opportunities to innovate, extend and enhance service delivery everywhere possibleCreate and maintain system documentation for storage technologies, including installation, configuration and appropriate troubleshooting stepsMonitor key system parameters to ensure optimum performance is being maintainedWork to ensure maximum uptime to essential systemsWork closely with other IT Management and technical staff to promote, evaluate and test infrastructure solutionsContribute to global and regional infrastructure projects with guidance from senior team membersSupport Parexel business units by reviewing and actioning storage related tickets weekly. QualificationsCandidate Basic Qualifications:BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field Deep knowledge in storage architecture including block, file and object storage Extensive knowledge in EMC, NetApp and HP storage arrays At least 5+ years of industry experience administrating storage protocols including, but not limited to, SATA, SAS, InfiniBand, NFS, SMB, FC and FCoE Experience designing, implementing and supporting a geographically dispersed storage infrastructure Candidate Qualifications: Comprehensive understanding of the principles and concepts of storage infrastructure. Expert knowledge in Dell EMC storage solutions including: VNX, UNITY, ISILON, and RecoverPoint.Expert knowledge in NetApp storage solutions running Clustered Data On-Tap Knowledge in storage fabric solutions including both Brocade and Cisco technologiesThe ability to provide thorough troubleshooting before reaching out to vendor supportAble to analyze capacity, configuration, performance and availability for all storage infrastructureThe ability to perform storage refreshes/migrations and work alongside business units to properly mitigate risk.
