Executive Director, Data Curation and Quality

Key Accountabilities:

LeadershipBusiness owner of the Enterprise Data Lake, in joint collaboration with IT as technology owners of the platform, representing the needs of all areas across the businessArticulate, clearly and enthusiastically, the vision and roadmap of enterprise data and reporting to all levels of the organization, navigating the appropriate level of detailAbility to combine knowledge of the business operations with technology and data to drive appropriate results, being assertive and challenging appropriatelyWork with executive leadership across all areas of Clinical, Commercial and G&A functions to understand the systems, initiatives, data flows and interdependenciesUnderstand the overall organization objectives and functional strategies and how data and reporting will support those business needs and decisionsPave the way for the successful partnering of the broader data team with the business through networking and engagement with senior leaders in the business.Act as a strategic data partner for one or more of the 5 key pillars, working closely with the ODEO team on the successful implementationEnable appropriate plans and strategies to drive training, adoption, compliance and change management to ensure successful rollout.Evaluate progress of the team towards the data mart build out and adapt as necessary, being ultimately accountable for each stage of the development process and final product.

Business & Data ExpertiseDesign of architecture and business logic to curate data from the raw zone to the mart / published zone of the Data Lake, through a strong understanding of the source systems, processes, and business rules.Apply business partnering principles to work with the functions to understand processes and business logic to apply to the data framework for modelingOwnership of Data Quality strategy, tools, and processes, in liaison with the businessRepresent Data Oversight on key enterprise projects, such as CTMS replacement, with emphasis on sign-off of data design architecture

InfluenceWork closely with Data Governance, Business Analysts, Functions, Solution Owners, Operational Delivery Excellence Office, IT, to ensure alignment on direction and prioritiesCollaborate with key senior leaders across the organization to ensure representation in data and reporting needsPlay a critical role in the design and architecture of systems, infrastructure and business processes that will support the data and reporting strategies and reduce technical and process debtClearly articulate the business needs to IT, influencing design, architecture, and approachEnsure the business understand the data strategies and priorities, ensuring cohesiveness and alignment

Line ManagementEnsure the team build the appropriate capabilities, both technical “hard” skills and business partnering “soft” skills.Responsible for providing direction, mentoring and developmental plans to ensure teams meet or exceed business and personal goals in keeping with Parexel’s high performance culture.Support and mentor direct reports to ensure they have the support and skills to influence the business and achieve the organization’s goalsTimely completion of Performance and Development tasksEnsure appropriate training, managing capacity for direct reports and the timely completion of departmental tasks and workloadsIndirect management and influence across the broader team in support of cross functional initiatives and projects
