Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance and guiding professional development, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters.

Direct the operations of the clinical project management staff, assuring project deliverables are achieved for each project management role. Overall accountability for delivery of portfolio, ensure all delivery management processes are followed, e.g. MPR, SGR, IPMP. Effective risk identification and mitigation across the portfolio including issue identification, management and resolution.

Lead and develop managers to assure the development of staff along career progression goals and strategic departmental and corporate priorities. Ensure appropriate delivery unit resource supply/demand balancing inclusive of talent attraction, talent placement, onboarding and training. Prioritise development of employees for career progression.

Formulate effective strategic goals for the assigned unit globally and take ownership for strategic initiatives, including development of measures for success. Participate in pipeline review to enable effective unit evolution and planning, support customer in regulatory, partnership activities where requested. Ensure customer is kept appraised on IQVIA offering development and ensures understanding of evolving customer strategy and how that may impact future delivery needs. Ensure delivery unit evolves in line with/ahead of customer evolving needs/business volumes.

Ensure effective financial management of portfolio performance, with a strong focus on productivity for all total project and delivery unit (EBITDA & EAC index management). Manage to L3 unit metrics (delivery, financial, customer, growth, quality, strategy). Understand and ensure delivery against commercial frameworks and contractual obligations - collaborate with the account team to ensure adequacy of partnership processes. Proactively identify processes suitable for improvement/optimisation and leverages lessons learned to drive continuous improvement. Identify, agree, monitor and act on KPI/KQIs and review, contribute and maintain customer operations charter/manual. Participate in customer governance meetings and effectively manages relationship with key customer stakeholders.

Partner with non-delivery unit functions, e.g. SM, DSSR to ensure adequacy of resourcing,

Develop relationships with key customer accounts, specifically therapeutic decision makers, and engage through regular customer meetings for key accounts.

Provide strategic leadership and input for the resourcing process and outcomes, hiring targets and processes and onboarding and training standards. Continually review and ensure adequate resources are available to meet deliverables and milestones.

Influence and shape the direction of Clinical project Management including recommendations regarding policies and practices.

Evaluate the quality of the work product, together with the workload, quality and budget metrics through regular analysis of data. Initiate action plans to improve efficiencies, project outcomes and quality metrics for processes and roles.

Ensure projected net revenue and contribution margins, overhead costs and operating surplus for projects within the remit of the group. Play a leadership role in the budget development process and in the development of key fiscal outcome metrics. Monitor the execution of the budget via thorough analysis of ongoing outputs. Proactively develop forecasts and risk assessment in alignment with budgetary goals. Institute fiscal action plans when necessary.

Provide executive leadership for project teams when necessary to manage project related challenges and to achieve exemplary customer service.

Drive quality or process improvement initiatives related to corporate or departmental strategic plans. Ensure leading KQIs are identified, monitored and acted on. Plan for timely QI identification and CAPA development and implementation, completion of monthly quality review to identify pan portfolio/therapeutic area/asset themes that require action.

Participate in function and/or corporate initiatives, special project assignments, and as a client liaison or departmental cross-functional liaison.
