Senior Compensation Analyst - Remote in Canada

Job Summary

Under the responsibility of the Director, Global Compensation, this individual will play a regional Canada role in the administration, alignment and equity of the total compensation programs as per business objectives in collaboration with the corporate office and Human Resources Business Partners. This position also provides planning, project coordination and management of the Total Rewards efforts, including monitoring the effectiveness, implementation and required training efforts for all Compensation / HR Information systems and interfaces in collaboration with the appropriate corporate internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, primary responsibilities include: 

  • Implement, communicate and deploy Canadian total compensation programs.
  • Designs and administrates total compensation programs including base pay, incentive pay, pay equity, annual compensation review and market analysis.
  • Provides general support to benefit program design and administration including vacation policy, group insurance program and defined contribution pension plan, as needed.
  • Provides expert consultation to HRBPs on compensation philosophy for offers of employment, promotional increases, and other off-cycle adjustments.
  • Delivers total rewards education, communication, and change management for new plan/policy rollouts.
  • Ensures the communication, application, monitoring and control of these programs including job evaluation and compensation related policies.
  • Monitor the relevant reference markets to maintain the desired positioning of the salary structure, other overall compensation practices in accordance with the organization, in order to position CRL Canada as an employer of choice.
  • Performs the salary equity exercise for all Canada sites and job families.
  • Support CRL’s global salary survey exercises, including data collection as needed.
  • Ensure data integrity in the HRIS system and manage analytics.
  • Support the team with audits, research, analysis, and recommendations for various situations related to our compensation programs and structure. 
  • Deal with all management levels, and act as an expert for human resources partners.

Key Elements

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role: 

  • University degree in HR management or in an appropriate discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in total compensation management.
  • Experience in a global, matrixed organization is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze data and explain complex topics to a broad audience.
  • Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Organized, structured and rigorous, and able to manage change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Bilingual (French / English) both spoken and written.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be accepted as a substitute meeting the qualifications.
