Job Purpose;Preparing study and laboratory documentation (forms, logs etc) as required.Supervising urine and faecal collections, measure/ weigh urine collection volumes/weights, weigh faecal collections.Collect, process and label (where appropriate) urine, breath alcohol and other specimens (which may include simple laboratory procedures such as centrifugation and pipetting).Perform simple diagnostic laboratory tests( for example pregnancy tests, urinalysis, drugs of abuse tests)Complete CRFs, laboratory records and capture other data as required.Collate CRFs, laboratory and other results and perform quality control checks to ensure they are complete and ready for review and approval by Research Physicians.Use centrifuges safely to process serum and plasma samples in a timely fashion according to protocol requirements.Transfer accurately serum and plasma from collection tubes to storage tubes and store appropriately.Prepare and pack samples and specimens to the sponsors’s and reference laboratories.Order and liaise with couriers to arrange transportation of samples.Assist with daily monitoring of fridge and freezer temperatures.Calibration and maintenance of equipment.Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales.QualificationsSkillsPractical and dextrous.Computer literate.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Client focused approach to work.A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.EducationHND or Degree.Language SkillsExcellent oral and written English communication skills.Minimum Work ExperienceOne year as industrial trainee or similar in a Pharmaceutical or research related field or applicable clinical experience advantageous but not essential as full training provided.
