Charles River Laboratories – Europe Safety Assessment is seeking to hire a senior veterinary clinical pathologist for our Lyon laboratory (Charles River Laboratories–Lyon). Charles River Laboratories Lyon employs a multidisciplinary group of scientists and technical staff that conduct investigative and IND-enabling preclinical studies in non-human primates, dogs, rabbits, minipigs and rodents for drug development for pharmaceutical companies. The clinical pathology laboratory is equipped for hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis and other specialty analyses. The successful candidate will join a laboratory staffed by 19 laboratory technologists and support technicians and globally a group of 15 board certified clinical pathologists located in the USA and Canada. In addition, the Clinical Pathology department in Lyon interacts with a highly qualified staff of 6 Board certified anatomic pathologists and 30 toxicologists and laboratory animal medicine veterinarians.

Your responsibilities will consist in: The interpretation of study-related clinical pathology data and the generation of a clinical pathology report, as well as cytologic evaluations (i.e. bone marrow, blood smear, and effusions) Interaction with clients to ensure their satisfaction Collaboration with study directors for good integration of clinical pathology data in the study report Participation in training of laboratory technicians Scientific leadership of the clinical pathology laboratories in Lyon and other European based Charles River Safety Assessment sites. Participation in scientific activities/projects related to clinical pathology within the organization

Requirements : D.V.M. or equivalent degree Board certification in clinical pathology by the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology and/or by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists At least 10 years of experience in industry/toxicologic clinical pathology Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and in English or strong willingness to learn Team-oriented interpersonal skills.
