The role

Our Real World Data assets are an important pillar of the RWS department, enabling our customers to research, understand, analyse and harness the value of both EMR and Oncology research data.

As part of our future RWS growth plans, this role will be pivotal in driving growth across the health ecosystem from UK-based Global and European Pharma HQs, Academia and digital health providers

As the BDM you will lead our UK IQVIA Medical Research Data business and be accountable for the revenue generated from the client base.

Your primary day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing relationships with clients and winning projects, and to develop the value propositions with data offerings from the RWS portfolio.

You will report to the overall UK & Ireland Lead for Real World Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual and quarterly financial forecasts for the UK IMRD business
  • Lead Business Development activities, and project delivery in the Real World Data space for UK-based Regional HQs and UK Affiliates of pharmaceutical companies, working closely with Key Account Managers, and Real World Account Directors
  • Collaborate with Account Teams to target and validate opportunities for key accounts
  • Get incremental leads from organisations already conducting research
  • Lead Business Development activities for the academic research market, refining the value proposition and aligning our capabilities to meet requirements
  • Lead the development of revenue in adjacent channels, including the use of RWD in growth sectors such as Health Tech and digital
  • Seeks “starburst” opportunities within existing customers to grow revenue opportunities across the IQVIA suite of offerings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other UK functions such as Market Access, Consulting, Data Science, and others, to define and deliver solutions to address cross-functional client needs
  • Lead the ongoing expansion of RWD assets to support the research objectives of our customer base
  • Monitor delivery, implementation, and customer satisfaction.
  • As part of the sales process, gathers market and client intelligence and provides strategic feedback to the patient and site solutions group to strengthen product offerings and capture additional business opportunities

Qualifications skills and experience required:

  • A proven track record in Real World Data business development, or within a related area such as healthcare consulting, market access, healthcare management, or data science
  • In depth understanding of medical research processes
  • Ideally already have an established network of contacts in the UK pharmaceutical industry, academia, and/or data-owning bodies such as HDR hubs
  • Ability to create effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication and direction
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working at management level with responsibility for leading business initiatives and teams
