We are seeking aScientistfor ourBiomarkers and Investigative Pathology Departmentlocated inMattawan, MI

AScientistin theBiomarkers and Investigative Pathology Departmentis responsible for developing and/or validating methodsand/or procedures, to either quantify/synthesize chemical entities, or prepare formulated testarticles or supporting compounds, or conduct studies of chemical compounds in vitro or in vivo,according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study protocols and/or GxPregulations. A Scientist may have general oversight and management of assigned staff,verifying compliance to departmental policies and procedures, facilitating the timely completionof projects, and effectively managing resources. Individuals in this role demonstrate expertise intheir field, lead others through scientific mentorship and/or publications, complete assignedprojects on time, and communicate effectively. A Scientist is expected to work independently,participate in process improvement initiatives, may supervise others, and may function as aPrincipal Investigator, Individual Scientist, Study Director and/ or Project Scientist.

For this position, we are looking for the following specific skills: Experience in Ligand Binding based Assays, specifically Immunohistochemisty, Confocal Microscopy, Advanced Imaging Techniques, Cell based Assays and Immunology. Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to theScientistposition:

HS/GED/Associate degree and 15 or more years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field and 7-10 years of relevant experience; orDoctoral degree in a relevant field and 2-5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactorysubstitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Demonstrated ability to manage, problem solve, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines,make executive decisions, and work well in a flexible, team-oriented, deadline drivenenvironment. Proficient in project management, making presentations, and analytical/quantitative/criticalthinking. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside theorganization. Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn avalidated system. Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited toevenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice. Ability to work under specific time constraints.
