  Job Summary  

The coordinator assists the supervisor on a daily basis in order to respond to all staffing requirements with efficiency and in a timely fashion

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Assist the supervisor on the daily running of the department by overseeing the scheduling and the assignment of technical staff to studies. Follow and ensure the application of SOP and GLP. In the absence of the supervisor, seen as the resource person. Overview of the workload with the supervisor. Ensure the well being of the studies by identifying problems and possible solutions in a timely fashion. Oversee the training to establish and maintain a high level of quality.     Establish the costs of the technical work in collaboration with the appropriate people. Assist the supervisor in monitoring the actual hours worked by the technicians on the studies in relation to the planned hours. Be a positive role model, enhance and maintain a team spirit within the group. Communicate change effectively to ensure standardization of department. Show flexibility in regards to the nature of the work to respond to the needs of his/her group and all other groups within the division. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  Experience: 5-6 years of technical experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  Frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 40 lbs during the maintenance of the animal room. Move around in the vivarium. Handle live animals. Communicate with the technicians in the noisy animal rooms.
