In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking a Supervisor for Research Production Models site located in Hollister, CA. The Supervisor directs day-to-day operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops production/service (or operations) and resource plans that meet goals in terms of safety, quality, output and cost. Oversees the management for site operations and ensures continuous process improvement. Ensures effective management of site operations, finances and budgets in close collaboration with the functional area directors within the company’s matrixed organization. Develops/supports best practices for managing, allocating and accruing project and trial level resources. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operations. Provides general direction to and review of managers in various functional areas, groups and/or operations, etc. Develops/supports corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes the implementation of these policies. Provides daily supervision of personnel and operations to maintain and monitor the health, production, and physical environment of Charles River or external customer animals (rodents) within isolators, micro-isolator caging and/or ventilated cage systems, to ensure achievement of departmental goals and levels. Independently handles routine personnel-related issues; assists in the handling of complex personnel-related issues. Oversees production and shipping activities of assigned group, including SOPs and OORs. Ensures proper record-keeping and report preparation. Actively interacts with and provide technical assistance to customers as required to resolve customer requests, inquiries, and complaints. Ensures that departmental equipment is maintained in good working condition and that departmental area(s) are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. Ensures proper recycling and setup of cages/isolators in assigned area(s). Reviews and ensures appropriate inventory levels of departmental supplies. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a technically related field (e.g. Biology) or related discipline. 4-6 years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience. ALAT certification. Demonstrated computer skills (data input, word processing). Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year experience in a Supervisor or Lead position.
