Resource Planner / Sr Resource Planner - Home Based

Parexel has a great opportunity for a high energy, strategic thinking resource professional to join Parexel as a Resource Planner / Senior Resource Planner. Reporting to the Associate Director, Resource Management, this position can be office based in our Durham, NC office or regionally home based.
The Resource Planner / Senior Resource Planner is responsible for identification and assignment of potential team members for proposals/bid defense meetings, for newly awarded projects and for changes of team members on awarded projects, running reports on Resource Management tool and forecasting of potential resource needs (within assigned business area or geography). Engage with senior levels of the business to influence resource related decisions and challenge assumptions. Participate in change management.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead responsibility for a large group of resources from a planning, allocation and forecasting perspective
• Serves as a mentor role to other resource planners Good understanding of project risks related to resourcing; Comfortable with resourcing trade-off negotiations under difficult circumstances
• Participate in staff meetings of operational leadership and seen as an influencer to resourcing decisions
• Use ‘Resource Optimization Framework’ to drive optimal resourcing decisions,
• Maintain macro-level understanding of awarded work, potential new business, resource demand for the next 3-6 months, resource supply and challenges within the scope of the role
• Checking Resource Mailbox daily for requests and if needed to follow up on details
• Evaluate specific resource needs for proposals/bid defense meetings and awarded studies (Amount of hours needed and by when, overall experience and experience in requested Therapeutic Area in order to be successful) As applicable, function dependent
• Utilize skills and experience for therapeutic experience to identify team members with specific therapeutic experience for proposals and awarded projects
• Utilize the Resource management tool by running reports to check for Free hours/capacity of potential team members
Check with LM’s and Portfolio Directors if CV’s can be forwarded to clients (if applicable)
• Provide CVs and bio sketch for inclusion in proposals and for clients for awarded trials appropriate (if applicable)
• Check with LM’s if potential team members are available for proposals/bid defense meetings, in exceptional cases contact individual’s directly (if applicable)
• Make suggestions for assignments for proposals/bid defense meetings and awarded work (new business, replacements of team members due to sick leave, maternity leave, company leave, exchange of staff on studies); track and follow up on the assignments (if applicable)
• Follow up on bid defense meeting outcomes and of proposal start dates (if applicable)
• Develop, prepare, and distribute resourcing projection reports (monthly at a minimum or more frequently as needed)
• Check for accuracy of entries in Resource management tool and follow up with LM’s if needed
• Run reports to check for mismatch between resourcing hours in Resource management tool and actual hours
• Evaluate and assist in the development of resource planning tools and databases as needed
• Develop and track metrics relating to Project Management resourcing
• Maintain a working knowledge and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and PAREXEL SOPs

Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or Project Management Skills a plus
Language Skills
Fluent in written and oral English in addition to local language
Minimum Work Experience
Relevant work experience in CRO or pharmaceutical field; preferred
Understanding of clinical research platforms required; preferred
Resource planning experience preferred
