Summarized Purpose:

Directs systems development and/or IT operations staff in providing IT services to assigned business functions or locations. This position is responsible for providing senior IT direction for a functional area across multiple locations. The goal of this position is to ensure the IT requirements for their assigned business functions or locations are effi ciently, effectively met by all involved IT staff.

Essential Functions Leads the work of functional area through subordinate directors and/or managers Liases with business functions and/or locations to ens ure IT priorities are in step with the business priorities and that commitments are being delivered on time and within budget Leads IT teams, operational management and cross functional teams to ensure a high standard of service and adherance to internal controls and procedures. Advises and consults with business functions and/or locations on information technology requests, services and capabilities Advises on the potential impact of current and future laws and regulations on the operation of the organization. Coordinates IT participation in Business Development, sponsor or regulatory audits ensuring accurate and timely responses. Manages assigned vendor relationships and contracts to ensure contractual obligations and business requirements are met at the best available price and quality expectation. Develops and manages departmental expense and capital budgets —ensuring appropriate business approvals are obtained for projects

Policy & Strategy Establishes policies appropriate for the function Interprets and recommends modifications to company - wide policies and practices. Develops and is responsible for budgets, schedules, and performance standards.

Freedom to Act Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results ass essed from a relatively long - term perspective .

Liaison Interacts with senior management, and others concerning matters of significance to the company. Conducts business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external management and / or representatives.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 15 years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience. 7 years of management responsibility

Advanced leadership skills

Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Years of experience are not to be used as the only determining factor in establishing the job class or making employment selection decisions .

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Minimum of 10 years experience with IT Operations or Syste ms Development Minimum of 5 years project management experience or similar leadership type role. Minimum of 7 years experience in management of technical staff. Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT business liaison role, working with senior business man agers. Working knowledge with systems in use at PPD considered a plus. Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to multi task and pay close attention to detail.

Management Role: Director role with significantly larger management scope (e.g. global or regional responsibilities or multiple departments) OR mastery of director skills and responsibilities as demonstrated by consistent, multi - year successful performance. Directs through subordinate management. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by executive management) and not have subordinate supervis ors or employees. May manage employees across multiple regions.
