Senior Director, Project Management (RIM), Calyx

The Senior Director, Project Management is responsible for the leadership and delivery of large or complex projects and programs to support clinical, regulatory and business users, including but not limited to new product Introductions, software releases, upgrades to new or existing systems and client implementations. Accountable for the on time delivery of project and programs with agreed budgets and deliverables.

Defining and embedding strategies that enable business objectives being met whilst providing overall leadership to project managers of all levels that drives high performance and skill competence.

Project Management Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines).Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.Ensures Quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.

Portfolio ManagementLeads the definition of a portfolio of programs, projects, and/or on-going service provision.Engages and influences senior managers to ensure the portfolio will deliver the agreed business objectives.Plans, schedules, monitors and reports on activities related to the portfolio to ensure that each part of the portfolio contributes to the overall achievement of the portfolio.Collects, summarizes and reports on portfolio KPIs often through the deployment of business management processes and systems.Identifies issues with portfolio structure, cost, risk, inter-dependencies, impact on current business activities and the strategic benefits to be realized.Notifies projects/programs/change initiatives of issues and recommends and monitors corrective action.Reports on portfolio status as appropriate.

Program ManagementPlans, directs, and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement a program from contract /proposal initiation to final operational stage including the transition into “business-as-usual”; plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the programEnsures that programs are managed to realize business benefits and that program management is informed by an awareness of current technical developments.

Change ManagementDevelops implementation plans for complex requests for change.Evaluates risks to the integrity of service environment inherent in proposed implementations (including availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted).Seeks authority for those activities, reviews the effectiveness of change implementation, suggests improvement to organizational procedures governing change management.Leads the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation of changes based on requests for change.

Business RiskPlans and manages the implementation of organization-wide processes and procedures, tools and techniques for the identification, assessment, and management of risk inherent in the operation of business processes and of potential risks arising from planned change.

Knowledge and ExperienceExperience of working with cloud deployment of enterprise solutions to the life sciencesExperience of working with cloud deployment of Regulatory Information Management (RIM) enterprise solutions Proven experience managing and leading mentoring colleaguesExperience using tools to communicate progress to StakeholdersUnderstanding of Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum), UML, Object Orientated, Data Modeling, Process Modeling and/or other development methodologiesExperience of working in and knowledge of the life sciences sector, in particular RIMSolid Professional experience in the same or very similar roleProven line management and leadership managementProven working experience of project management methodologies (such as Prince2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma)

EducationBachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience
