• Ensures that Payroll processes and system functionality meets the needs of the business and that systems are fully leveraged to provide maximum value

• Works with key business stakeholders to define, design and implement system, process and reporting enhancements that ensure accurate payroll processing, while providing management with timely business intelligence related to employee pay (work hours, overtime, etc.)

• Helps identify required system enhancements and leads the design, implementation, communication and change management associated with Payroll system and process changes

• Maintain projects on-time, managing expectations and risk, and monitoring post-implementation benefits.

• Ensures solutions are transitioned appropriately to the support team through company-defined processes.

• Serves as a primary liaison to the IT technical team for all system and process enhancements and troubleshooting system issues impacting payroll

• Lead acquisitions to enable pay to acquired employees - assess and direct acquisition integration efforts for payroll activities adhering to respective integration plans and time lines

• Understands data flow to/from payroll systems and works with the IT/HRIS teams to help resolve data integration issues

• Creates and maintain KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of the systems and processes supporting payroll

• Works with field locations to help improve the accuracy and timeliness of local processes impacting Payroll; This includes time management processes (hours entry, approvals, schedules, etc.)

• Identify and drive continuous performance improvement projects to improve payroll accuracy, compliance and productivity

• Performs all other related duties as assigned Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in finance, accounting or related discipline or related experience.

• Ten plus years of directly related experience in a multi-state environment/multi-national environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

• Strong project management experience including the ability to manage project plans, dependencies, critical path activities and milestones

• Solid understanding and experience applying best practices related to Payroll operations

• Comprehensive knowledge of leading payroll platform, ADP Workforce Now preferred

• Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, including conducting complex root cause analyses as needed

• Ability to self-manage and complete projects on time

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer centric approach

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Additional certifications such as CPP, Six Sigma, PMP Certification preferred
