Site Reliability Engineer

Technology Solutions division of IQVIA develops and markets healthcare-focused enterprise software applications including Master Data Management, CRM, Multi-channel Marketing, Content Management, Social and Compliance solutions.  Ada is a cloud-based Machine learning/Artificial Intelligence platform bringing a layer of intelligent services to Technology Solutions’ software offering called “Ada”. Ada is a product which hosts Machine Learning solutions which leverage features such as ML Training and Orchestration,  ML API Serving,  Data Preparation, and Systems Integration.  As a product,  Ada has many implementations – each suited to a particular set of use cases for a business partner.

Role Purpose:

The Ada Systems Reliability Engineer plays a pivotal role the delivery of this AI/ML platform. In the Ada team,  the SRE role sits at the intersection of Devops, Software Development, Operations and QA.  The SRE is responsible for the robustness and quality of the platform implementation.  The ideal candidate is able to see big picture strategy while maintaining product roadmaps and customer deliverables to evolve new and exciting technology.   The Ada SRE will:

  • Design and Automate test scenarios and algorithms (content) in Ada to validate and exercise ML and platform features
  • Oversee and enhance operational aspects of the platform – with design responsibility around monitoring, alerting, and observability systems
  • Design and automate strategies and solutions for Capacity Planning and Cost Optimization – blending Load Testing and observability disciplines to balance extreme scalability with cloud cost-effectiveness

Job Responsibilities

  • Validate and track Kubernetes, and Amazon Cloud infrastructure
  • Design, implement, and optimize functional, UI, and performance test automation using Python, Robot Framework, and Locust
  • Manage test plans in TestRail
  • Design, implement and optimize CI/CD solutions in Gitlab integrating Infrastructure-As-Code, Software Development, and Testing Pipelines
  • Optimize Kubernetes and Cloud Native Observability solutions based on Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, ElasticSearch, and Jaeger.
  • Design and manage platform tuning scenarios and recommend platform and Algorithm configurations which are cost-efficient as well as suitable to a particular implementation using Observability tooling (above) and an understanding of Kubernetes performance tuning.
  • Develop and extend container-based solutions using Docker and Helm
  • Deploy, understand, and validate content in Kubernetes and AWS using tools like AWS CLI and kubectl
  • Design and Implement Test algorithms in Ada Platform in Python (Note: does not require ML expertise)
  • Collaborate with team members in an Agile methodology using Jira and Confluence
  • Collaborate effectively with a distributed team in the United States and Poland in English and Polish languages

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Significant hands-on experience with the majority of the above subject areas
  • Significant hands-on experience with the majority of the above technologies or related technologies
  • A strong passion for getting things done, solving real problems, and learning new things
  • Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
