  Job Summary Performs feed management and prepares daily enrichment given to animals according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

- Establish a varied feed distribution schedule for all ongoing studies;

- Provide food distribution and counter enrichment service to employees;

- Understand, adhere to and consistently apply procedures;

- Track inventory and receive and place various orders;

- Record computerized data and complete audit documentation;

- Work in a clean manner to avoid food contamination and perform bi-annual disinfections;

- Remove household waste and dispose of it in the appropriate containers;

- Participate in co-worker training;

- Minimize waste of used equipment and supplies;

- Maximize the use of all resources;

- Manage time effectively;

- Perform any other reasonable duties that may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Work consistently performed in a laboratory environment; 

- Work with sharp tools requiring minimal attention and control.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

- High school diploma;

- Relevant work experience is an asset;

- Reading English is mandatory. Bilingualism is preferred;

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;

- Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;

- Flexibility to work a variety of schedules;

- Ability to work in a team environment;

- Working knowledge of computer applications related to the position.
