Transition Project Management

Transition Project Manager will take care of successful program transitions for most strategic clients across multiple countries, ranging from all kinds of a project manager`s responsibility such as scope, time, resource, budget or methodology. TPM will be involved in entire project life cycles including plan the kick off and implement projects in accordance to the project order as well as estimate project management resources and further lead the project team in a virtual matrix organization.
TPM will be positioned at the heart of projects to not only meet and manage customer and stakeholder expectation, but also keep the overview. Experienced in handling complex projects, TPM will evaluate and oversee the risk management, take care of the reporting and ensure a stable handover of a project into operation. TPM is expected to act with minimum supervision and to deliver to schedule, budget and scope; support provided as required and requested, and is self-driven and motivated
Essential Functions of the Job:
• Responsible for planning and overseeing the transfer of key information necessary for the support, operation and acceptance of solutions deployed into production. This includes operational readiness, support documentation and acceptance checklists.
• Ensure service transition is planned and executed to schedule, budget and scope
• Build transition plans including infrastructure/application support models, change management.
• Be responsible for coordinating implementation activities, providing effective team leadership, including information flow to and from operations during project work
• Assess, analyze, develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change
• Liaise with business and IT partners on release scheduling and communication of progress
• Work with project manager to establish end-to-end project plan and approach
• Promotes awareness of transition planning and support process and strategy
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate mastery of the process competency principles and practices
• Ability to identify, escalate and manage project risks
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
• Experience of transitioning complex projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost for projects typically up to 1 million $ in value and 6 months in duration
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work and team effectively with IT Services groups and other management personnel including on a global, virtual basis
• Knowledge of service transition methodology, tools and templates
• Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
• IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in different project phases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrates commitment to IT methodologies, processes and standards for transition planning and support
Education:
• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
Experience:
• 3 to 5 years experience in transition project management or related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation and infrastructure)
• Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred
Certification Requirements:
• Project management certification (PMI/CAPM or PMP, PRINCE2)
• Familiarity with ITIL v3 would be advantageous
