The Role

As part of ICON's Legal Compliance and Ethics team, the Healthcare Compliance Manager's primary responsibility will be to manage the Healthcare Compliance (HCC) aspects of ICON's Corporate Compliance & Ethics Program.Manage the HCC aspects of ICON's program, including oversight of key HCC areas such as transparency laws; laws, regulations, and/or standards of conduct when interacting with healthcare professionals/government officials; gifts, hospitality, travel, charitable contributions, sponsorship's, and third party risks.Identify and investigate red flags; work with cross functional teams and colleagues to ensure that appropriate remedial actions are instituted to prevent repeat violations of policies/procedures or weaknesses in controls that may be identified through monitoring, investigations, audits or other sources.Act as Compliance monitoring lead for regional internal legal compliance & ethics reviews and investigations.Assess the effectiveness of existing ICON compliance frameworks and benchmark them against established industry best practice. Work with and advise global Internal Audit team.Periodically report to global Corporate Legal leadership on program initiatives, metrics and emerging issues / trends.Work with key stakeholders to conduct periodic risk assessments, identify gaps, and establish an action plan to remediate.Identify and interpret ICON's regional and country specific regulatory and compliance requirements and ensure business leaders are kept up to date on latest developments.Pro-actively advise ICON business teams on how to manage the impact of these requirements and to effectively embed these requirements into Standard Operating Procedures, Business Practices and related training.Advise ICON's legal team on HCC contract language and negotiation.Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you need3+ years' industry or consulting experience in a compliance and ethics function or other similar oversight function e.g., legal, risk mitigation, or internal audit1Strong analytical skills ideal.Excellent communication skills and team player.Life sciences industry experience, regulatory, and/or clinical research experience preferred.Strong presentation and negotiation skills.Ability to work with multi globally based teams and to very tight deadlines.Ability to close out team tasks and projects efficiently and decisively.Extremely organized and focused with a strong work ethic.Experience of advising on legal compliance issues and communicating with clients on these issues.Track record of advising management teams and business streams on the implementation of legal and compliance requirements.
