The Sr. Manager - IT Commercial & Contract Management is responsible for contractual & financial management for one or more Strategic Suppliers in the Parexel IT function. They work cross-functionally with all IT teams and other business support functions such as Finance, Procurement and Legal, to ensure that Strategic Supplier Agreement(s) are properly executed and governed with respect to contractual and financial aspects.
The role holders will be directly responsible for managing the following commercial processes:
• Contract Change Mgt
• Contract Interpretation
• Contract Compliance
• Invoice Mgt. & Validation
The role holder will also be a Key Participant in these supplier management processes:
• Work Request & Authorization (Project & Work Order Management).
• Forecast & Demand Mgt.
• Performance Credits / Earnback
Contract Subject Matter Expert
Knows and understands the contract in detail
Provides contract training and educates stakeholders periodically to ensure that there is good understanding of the contract terms and deliverables
Facilitates timely problem resolution of contractual issues to minimize impact of service disruptions on Parexel
Interprets the contract and initiates resulting actions
Contract Compliance
Develops/manages contract tools to support the Supplier Management & Service Management teams
Monitors Supplier & Parexel compliance with contract terms and conditions, commitments and notifications
Ensures that all terms and conditions of the agreement are satisfied, contractual constructs are fit for purpose and mitigate any risk exposures; works with Supplier(s) to progress the goals and objectives of the set of agreements
Provides a structured process, rules of engagement and end-to-end support for contractual issue/dispute resolution
Resolves escalated issues in accordance with the governance escalation procedures
Manages the end-to-end Supplier Audit process; ensures that appropriate audit controls are in place for Supplier’s processes and invoices.
Financial Management
Ensures the integrity of the pricing schedules and mechanisms and ensure they are fit for purpose"
Validates Service (Performance) Credits.
Manages any re-pricing, making use of existing contractual mechanisms for cost/price change
Ensures any scope change or extension is commercially optimized using contractual mechanisms
Verifies proposals and RFS responses against contractual terms and conditions (including pricing, proposed charging mechanisms, chargeability of items) proposing if necessary the most appropriate solution for Parexel
Ensures commercial optimization of the contract by making use of contractual levers to limit or reduce cost and by educating the retained organization on the contractual mechanisms
Acts as an escalation point for any billing issues/disputes
Supports negotiation of all amendments, contract interpretations, new services and any other issues requiring contractual resolution
Manages benchmarking and mark-to-market activities to monitor Supplier’s performance against industry standards, as stipulated in the contract
Ensures auditability of the contract as required in the various sections (billing, standards compliance, service delivery, and so forth).
Contract Maintenance
Manages the end-to-end lifecycle of Contract Change from development through to execution, including obtaining the relevant stakeholder approvals;
– Initiation and preparation of contract change requests

– Physical update of contractQualificationsKnowledge & Experience
8+ years of relevant management experience or progression of senior management positions of increasing complexity, including management of a matrixed organization, covering contract management, supplier relationship management, negotiation, governance, policy & process development.
Experience in managing large scale supplier relationships and contracts.
Strong influencing and problem resolution skills, including experience negotiating with third parties.
Strong collaboration, people management and partnering skills.
Good financial skills and process skills; an understanding of industry standard financial practices and goals.
Ability to work with suppliers to ensure effective cost solutions and agreed upon service level agreements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms.
Demonstrated ability to assess commercial needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
Demonstrated ability to engage partners and team members at all levels of Parexel.
Ensure resources are supporting the processes & tools within the area of responsibility
Aptitude for managing team dynamics, ensuring objective and positive contributions through structured and organized actions / methods
Experience in supervision of systems and support staff
Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management, and development of the team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives
Maintain a positive, results oriented work environment, building partnerships and modelling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner
Firm but fair mindset.
Knowledge of Parexel’s business environment, service requirements, commercial requirements and culture.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred.
