About this Role:

The Stakeholder Engagement Compliance Coordinator (SECC) performs quality assessments of Healthcare Provider (HCP) interactions for our client, an international pharmaceutical company with it’s Canadian headquarters in Montreal, QC. This is a client-facing role that will partner with various business units within our client, most closely with the Compliance team, to ensure appropriate risk mitigating solutions. The SECC will employ an in-depth understanding of compliance and regulatory environments, and proactively identify and escalate impending changes related to HCP engagement processes. As an active extension of the client’s Compliance team, the SECC will also commit to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of the current processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct, and execute quality assessments of Healthcare Provider (HCP) interactions in compliance with the client’s SOPs and Innovative Medicines Canada standards to enable cross-functional partners to execute business strategies with appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Receive, coordinate and track HCP engagement requests submitted by client business partners.
  • Evaluate each interaction against global Compliance, Legal, and Finance policies and procedures, and Canadian Healthcare Engagement standards. HCP interactions may include (but not limited to) Advisory Boards, Speaker Programs, Steering Committees, and Sponsorships.
  • Issue recommendations for remediation to cross-functional business partners, providing business-enabling solutions and corrective actions.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely approval of engagement requests.
  • Create and manage contract execution on behalf of the client.
  • Reconcile engagement documentation prior to payment for services provided
  • Release payments following review for compliant engagement interactions.
  • Enable an environment of open communication among team members to ensure service level agreements (SLA) is met and process deficiencies are addressed in an objective and transparent manner.
  • Provide consultation, and innovative preventive solutions for upcoming HCP interactions by partnering with cross-functional partners and acting as Subject Matter Expert.
  • Lead, document, and escalate any identified process deficiencies in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Implement continuous process improvement to improve business efficiency and react to global process changes with change agility.
  • Provide recommendation on the implementation of Compliance policies and procedures with a solutions-oriented focus.
  • Track trend deviations to policies and procedures and inform the business in strategic decision-making and report on the effectiveness of the HCP engagement review process.
  • Report unplanned deviation trends to the client’s Compliance team and develop strategies and solutions to correct reported deficiencies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of business experience (preferably in compliance, quality systems or healthcare compliance)
  • Hold an undergraduate degree (Science, Ethics & Compliance, or Healthcare)
  • Understanding and/or experience within regulated environments (i.e., pharmaceuticals, healthcare)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills combined with a project management experience in a complex and changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively problem-solve to ensure key requirements are met
  • Ability to communicate and influence in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to keep to deadlines and follow processes

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with common business systems and applications (e.g., SAP, Veeva CRM, Microsoft Suite)
  • Bilingual (English & French) an asset
