Supervise facilities support personnel and operations to ensure achievement of departmental goals.  Handle basic to moderately complex personnel-related issues, and assist in handling highly complex issues. Responsible for overseeing the establishment, implementation, up-dates, and training for the facilities computerized tracking system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

•    Schedule and prioritize workload of group members. 

•    Provide direct daily supervision and review work of assigned departmental employees. 

•    Oversee the coordination, scheduling and review of general daily maintenance work requests/requirements.

•    Ensure facility equipment records, calibrations, and documentation is maintained/performed in accordance with SOP requirements.

•    Oversee and/or coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance requirements for facility equipment.   

•    May review log books at scheduled intervals for proper documentation.  

•    Oversee and assist with the establishment and maintenance of the selected standard computerized tracking system for facilities-related maintenance assignments/ duties. 

•    Enter and maintain required information into the computerized tracking system.  

•    Oversee daily operational activities and supervise a group of non-exempt employees. 

•    Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.

•    Recommend short-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.

•    May assist in development of departmental budget.

•    As required, oversee maintenance of group training manual and training records.

•    Support the policy of equal employment opportunity through affirmative action in personnel actions.

•    Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures [SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols].Perform all other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Desired Education:   Associate’s (A.A./A.S.) degree or equivalent in business, computer science or related discipline. Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred.

•    Experience:  Journey person level experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Certification/Licensure:  None.

•    Other:    Demonstrated skills with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.  Comprehension of regulations and ability to apply critical thinking skills to evaluate requirements and effectively communicate (written and oral) findings.  Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.  Must be able to perform the job professionally and diplomatically.  Must be able to train others, using common training principles and skills.  Organizational and leadership skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle tools and maintenance equipment.  

•    Frequently lifts bags weighing up to 40 pounds.

•    Frequently climbs ladders, kneels and/or lies on concrete flooring.

•    Walks or stands for up to 90% of the workday.
