In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking an Animal Care Technician for our Hollister location.

 

The Animal Care Technician will perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and other production duties. They will maintain supplies and environment of environmentally controlled work area(s) and assist in providing training to entry-level employees.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry duties and monitor daily health and welfare to ensure quality and health of product. Perform physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintain recordkeeping and production operations according to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Order and operate equipment and use supplies according to safety guidelines. Assist in training new employees on basic procedures. Strictly follow all procedures necessary to maintain the isolator and/or barrier room barrier. May coordinate limited production activities in the temporary absence of the Supervisor. May prepare offers, as assigned. May pull and pack animals for shipping to customers, as assigned. Perform all job-related duties in accordance with company safety procedures. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). One to two years related experience and/or training in animal husbandry. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: AALAS Certification at the Assistant Technician level or the equivalent
