We work closely with many Hospitals and Research Centres (sites) to undertake the research and whilst our roles are not patient facing, we facilitate patient recruitment whilst also monitoring the data generated and collected, to ensure patient safety and data integrity (important for the final clinical study report analysis).  </p><p style="margin: 0px;"><em><span> </span></em></p><p style="margin: 0px;">This internship will give you an insight into several roles in our Department including our Start Up and Clinical Operations Team. In the role you will learn all about how clinical trials are organised and about the many different people needed to successfully bring new medications to the market! <span style="color: #1f497d;"> </span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"><em><span> </span></em></p><p style="margin: 0px;"><strong>Responsibilities/Job Duties</strong></p><p style="margin: 0px;">As an intern, you will be a fundamental member of our clinical research teams and support the setup, execution and closure of clinical trials in the UK and Ireland.</p><p style="margin: 0px;"><em> </em></p><p style="margin: 0px;"> Tasks and responsibilities of the role include:</p><ul><li>Being the main point of contact for hospital sites/staff to support with any queries or issues, by email and phone</li><li>Working closely with Clinical Research Associates and the Start Up team for each study/site to support with tasks such as obtaining missing information or requesting actions to be completed</li><li>Reviewing documentation for each study to ensure all required documents are filed and obtain copies of any missing documents (Trial Master File: all documents used in a clinical trial must be kept, filed and stored for many years in case regulators want to review at a later date)</li><li>Reviewing study updates provided by the Project team to ensure required tasks are completed</li><li>Assisting with the initial outreach and feasibility for potential new clinical trials in the UK and Ireland</li><li>Review of the electronic Case Report Forms (database where all patient results are stored) to identify any missing or incorrect data and follow up with the hospital sites to correct</li><li>Tracking and processing of invoices received from hospital sites to ensure they are within the contract and budget</li><li>Liaise with hospital sites to ensure they have enough clinical trial supplies for patient visits and facilitate re-ordering</li><li>Assist the Clinical Research Associate or Project team with ad-hoc tasks to facilitate smooth running of the clinical trial</li></ul><h2>Education/Qualifications:</h2><p style="margin: 0px;"><strong>Education/Experience</strong></p><p style="margin: 0px;">We are looking for someone who:</p><ul><li>Is currently studying for a Life Science degree</li><li>Can work well in a team</li><li>Can work autonomously</li><li>Is confident and has good communication skills</li><li>Is well organised and able to understand the need to prioritise tasks  </li><li>Would be willing to be based in the Maidenhead office (either based locally or willing to relocate to Maidenhead/surrounding areas)</li></ul><h2>Experience:</h2><p style="margin: 0px;">.</p>
