The Associate Director/Director, SSU Strategy and Planning, will be appointed as the SSU Account Lead for Biotech and/or Enterprise business account. They are responsible to strategize, lead, and manage client partnership(s) within Study Start-Up to ensure Parexel delivers quality projects to its clients and achieves agreed operational targets. The role is accountable for study start-up delivery of their respective portfolio of client partners and ensuring alignment to the delivery of commitments, within the agreed expectations, including alignment to operational processes. The role is an experienced leader responsible for liaising with senior levels of management and the ability to work with leaders within other core delivery functions.

Key Accountabilities: Monitor performance by close interaction with project leadership/functional leadership/client and may also be required to ensure that ongoing/revised project documentation and correspondence is accurate and complete. Strategize and oversee departmental /functional activities including appropriate resourcing of staff, staff assignments, quality control, and efficiency of project deliverables. Provide expertise and consultation, facilitate metrics collection and develop action plans in conjunction with Project Leader/Lead to keep projects on time and within budget Ensure direct reports drive departmental and project productivity and quality metrics by efficient execution of their project in line with project plan and ensure quality check of department deliverables (e.g., site visits, Central File documentation) and take appropriate remedial action Meet and aim to exceed client expectations by recruiting, retaining and developing a skilled, experienced and motivated team Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales Owns the client relationship at an account level and is responsible for client communication ensuring high client satisfaction for delivery of SSU. Establish complete channels and standards of communication among all key stakeholders that support timely and efficient delivery of the information required for the effective completion of the project/program. Participate in and contribute to project bids, including client presentations. Provide on-going support to the Commercial organization Maintain a working knowledge of, and assure compliance with, applicable ICH Guidelines, Good Clinical Practices, Regulatory Agency requirements, and PAREXEL SOPs Demonstrate excellent leadership skills within department, function or geography. This includes taking an active role in or leading departmental, functional, or regional/global activities (e.g., management meetings), ensuring employees adhere to corporate policies and following up with management as appropriate QualificationsSkills: Strategic Thinking skills that support the ability to create a sense of urgency and take a proactive, solutions-based approach Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, to define and resolve issues in a variety of complex situations Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Leverage communication across boundaries and uses multiple communication mechanisms to convey information across functional lines and upward within Parexel. Client focused and demonstrates an ability to create and maintain trust with the client through project and personal interactions; act as a trusted advisor and become involved in the client’s decision-making process. Ability to resolve issues independently and knows when to call on senior management for involvement in communicating to client executives after assessing the organizational implications of the interaction and consultation with Senior Management. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word, and project planning software Ability to become proficient with Parexel systems Familiarity with standard business and eClinical systems used in Clinical Research such as CTMS, EDC, IXRS, TMF and project planning tools Expert in ICH and GCP regulations in relevant geographies Demonstrated strength in managing Managers and leading diverse teams Advanced ability to successfully manage a full workload across multiple and varied projects/tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail Outstanding negotiation, influencing and organizational skills Demonstrable experience of stakeholder/relationship management with a client focused approach to work. Able to understand the business implications of decisions and impact on customer Advanced ability to manage and motivate direct reports and wider team An ability to assess situations and make and carry through difficult decision

Knowledge and Experience: Fluent in written and oral English; Mandarin will be a plus. Knowledge in clinical research industry, including expert understanding of Study Start-Up Significant work experience including substantial Client management experience

Education: Educated to degree level (biological science, pharmacy, or other health-related disciplines preferred) or equivalent nursing qualification or relevant clinical other equivalent experience
