Performs duties related to the maintenance of experimental animals such as feeding and caring for animals, cleaning cages, holding animals for treatment by laboratory technician or maintaining inventory and animal identification records. Performs cleaning/sanitation of animal facility and equipment. Responsible for bio-safety and bio-security of the animals. May partner with pre-clinical investigators to assist and support veterinarians with surgery, dosing, post-op care and monitoring of animal studies.

We are seeking a Vivarium Supervisorfor our Insourcing Solutionssite located in South San Francisco.

The following are responsibilities related to theVivarium Supervisor:Provides daily direction and supervision to animal care technicians (to maintain quality performance of departmental and client objectives, including meeting/exceeding departmental standards for cagewash facilities operation, facilities condition, sanitation levels and facility security. Coordinates personnel scheduling with business activities. Oversee the activity of the animal care staff, including but not limited to scheduling of daily activities, hiring of new employees, training and performance management of existing employees. Monitor staff to ensure compliance and adherence to policies and procedures. Conducts routine inspection of facilities, equipment and materials to determine the degree to which established levels of materials availability, animal facility support, sanitation levels, environmental parameters and security are being met/exceeded.

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Vivarium Supervisorposition: Bachelor of Science degree or related field Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a laboratory AAALAC accredited animal facility. Certification/Licensure: Laboratory Animal Technologist (LAT) certification preferred.
