We are seeking an entry levelAnimal Care/Husbandry Technician 1 for ourResearch Models and Services (RMS) site located inHollister, California . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform routine animal husbandry duties and monitor daily health and welfare to maintain quality and health of animals. Handle, transfer and distribute animals, supplies and waste as needed to and from work area(s). Perform physical environment housekeeping duties and production operations according to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain recordkeeping pertaining to equipment operation, animal or supply area inventories. Strictly follow all procedures necessary to maintain the isolator and/or barrier room barrier. Operate equipment and use supplies according to safety guidelines. Perform all job-related duties in accordance with company safety procedures. Strictly follow all procedures necessary to maintain the isolator and/or barrier room Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Type: Temporary to possibly permanent MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care & Breeding Technician position. High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a regulated environment, where tasks are performed according to standard operating procedures, rules, or regulations, where efficiency and accuracy are critical, and keeping accurate and thorough records are required (such as food service, CNA, etc. under FDA, Health Dept. regulations, etc.). Demonstrated ability to perform in a physically demanding role including standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, moving about, and ascend and descend and work from a platform ladder. Participation in Weekend and Holiday Schedule Rotation Required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) year of related experience in and/or training in animal husbandry. AALAS certification at the Assistant Technician or its equivalent.
