We are seeking an experienced Principal Business Intelligence / Data Analyst for our IT Analytics Team located in Wilmington, MA.

This role will work collaboratively, in a consultative way, across the business units and IT, owning the modern analytics solutions that are built by the team, supporting and training business users, as well as advising on best approaches to solve business problems, automate manual solutions, or simply bring to life ‘the art of the possible’  leveraging modern analytics as a competitive advantage.  The following are responsibilities related to the Principal Business Intelligence / Data Analyst role:

  

•    Engage Business Stakeholders at all levels to identify requirements for current and future products through ongoing interaction 

•    Data Profiling, mining, and data validation to ensure data is fit for use by the business

•    Ability to see big picture and then identify key areas for deep analysis to support sound solutions

•    Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear and user-friendly manner

•    Perform testing, resolve issues and work with developers to automate testing/data validation

•    Lead requirements workshops and User Acceptance Testing for new data and analytics solutions

•    Build strong business relationships that foster a collaborative and trusting approach and partnership

•    Act as scrum master for the team and prepare detailed stories for developers

  Job Qualifications  

The following are minimum requirements related to the Principal Business Intelligent / Data Analyst position.

•    BS/BA degree in Business Management, Computer Science (or related field), MBA Preferred

•    7+ years of experience in writing SQL queries, data mining, data profiling, and data validation/testing

•    7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst specializing in the Data & Analytics discipline 

•    7+ years of experience organizing and running User Acceptance Testing cycles and training with business users and stakeholders

•    5+ years of experience with Data Governance processes to ensure consistent implementations of data sets, terminology and reporting structures for optimal data integrity

•    5+ years of experience with Data Visualizations tools such as Power BI, SSRS, or Tableau

•    3+ years of experience supporting users with OLAP solutions in SSAS (MDX or DAX)

•    3+ years working in Agile Software Development Methodology

•    Ability to translate requirements to well-written user stories to bridge the gap between business and technology

•    Strong business mindset with ability to collaborate with business partners to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery

The following are strongly desired:

•    Agile experience particularly as Certified Scrum Master or Product Owner

•    Willingness to help mature Agile practices for the team and lead some ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and backlog grooming

•    Experience in Life Sciences industry with data and analytics solutions

•    Experience with products using Advanced Analytics, ML, or AI capabilities
