Lab Sample Coordinator II

Job Overview:Prepare, label, store, pack and dispatch samples to external laboratories in accordance with applicable regulations. Apply correct shipping procedures according to international regulations for biohazardous and dangerous goods. Complete all related documentation. Tracks and documents PK sample shipments. Organize and communicate sample dispatch dates. Formulate specimen codes from protocol and print labels. Label and sets up specimen containers. Obtains body substances for testing in the approved manner. These substances may include blood, saliva, sputum, urine, and stool. Uses universal precautions when handling specimens. Maintain and calibrate equipment within the department. Track calibration schedules and ensure that all necessary preventive maintenance and calibration is performed as required. Monitor temperatures and organize refrigerator and freezer space. Arrange for clinical samples to be archived as required. Operates and maintains centrifuges, as required. Ensure supplies are adequate within the Sample Processing lab. Act as a team leader to ensure all tasks are completed. Assist in training others in processing procedures. Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area in the lab. Perform basic laboratory procedures as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

  Education/Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent Experience:3 years of laboratory experience
