The mission of the Project Management Academy (PM Academy) is to early identify and develop potential clinical project management leaders of the future.   

 

The PM Academy Senior Manager creates a face-to-face, continuous learning environment that fosters the growth and development of Project Coordinators (PC) to be the right hand support to the Project Lead.  

 

S/he performs line management and PM Academy leadership duties, with minimal guidance and support from supervisor and mentors.  S/he trains & mentors other PM Academy LMs in multiple areas of expertise.   S/he may oversee other PM Academy LMs within the same PM Academy site.

 

Essential Job Duties: 

  Provide day-to-day Line Management support of PCs within the PM Academy 'hub'. Support the world-wide growth of the global PM Academy organization with Project Coordinator candidate selection, onboarding, mentoring and ongoing development. Foster a collegial learning environment within and across PM Academy 'hub's. Foster the growth and development of Project Coordinators (PCs) to ultimately grow into future Project Managers. Foster strategic mentoring relationships with the project management and clinical research community that support the growth and development of Project Coordinators. Serve as TA resourcing liaison to ensure PC deployment is prioritized according to business needs, seek visibility to sales pipeline, represent and support PM Academy vision, and reinforce appropriate task delegation, making adjustments as needed. Manage resources to maximize utilization while promoting meaningful growth opportunities for PCs. Respond quickly to PC allocation requests (target 24 hours). Manage expectations re timing of request fulfilment. Update resource allocation reports weekly. Promote Project Coordinator engagement and retention. Minimize regrettable attrition. Achieve business targets including, but not limited to, attrition, staffing ratios, UTE, 0% overtime, SOP & study-specific training, quality metrics, internal & external client satisfaction. Actively support and promote strategic business initiatives. Drive process consistency & improvement across PM Academy hubs, incorporating Lessons Learned on an ongoing basis. Serves as point of escalation for all PM Academy site issues across one or more cohorts; implement mitigation & contingency plans.

       Education/Qualifications:Required: University/college degree (life science preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession (i.e. nursing, medical or laboratory technology) from an appropriately accredited institution. Preferred: Masters or other advanced degree. PMP certification. Experience:Minimum  Qualifications Required: Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant clinical research experience in a pharmaceutical company/CRO, including at least two (2) years of project management and/or client facing experience. Preferred: Demonstrated line management or mentoring experience.
