The Proposal & Contract Manager role is to ensure consistent management of all budget proposals

and contracts through “business process” from initiation of the study award by the Alliance Partner to

final Work Order execution and any future Change in Scope. The Business Operations Manager serves

as the Client’s primary interface for all budget and contractual activities.

Key Accountabilities

Overall management responsibility for the budget proposal and contract process for specific Alliance

Partnership accounts including coordination of Operations, Project Management, Legal, Business

Development and Project Finance to prepare, review and negotiate budget proposals and contracts.Perform appropriate client/ indication/ therapeutic area research to support proposaldevelopmentFacilitate and add value to strategy meetings to:Identify issues and client requirementsNegotiate timelines/ final deliverablesRecommend study conduct strategy from a business perspective and internal resourcing based on experience and knowledge of client Terms and ConditionsLead senior management, multi-disciplinary discussion to assure full and high quality inputEstablish agreement on timelines and deliverables from the strategy meeting and follow-up to ensure adherenceCreate specific proposal text to:Accurately reflect strategy discussionsMeet Parexel and client needs/expectationsAssure accuracy and appropriateness of text and attachmentsPreparation of budget which reflects both Parexel and client needs:Assure consistency and competitiveness of budgetsFacilitate pricing discussions with appropriately identified key decision makers including the BU PFD, Director, Partnership Operations and Strategic Account LeaderEnsure appropriate and accurate mapping to Alliance Partner budget specificationsProvide quality client deliverables to strict deadlinesLead in budget discussions with clientServe as primary client contact during the negotiation phaseOngoing interface with client in development of Payment Schedules and Study Work OrdersOngoing proactive involvement with project management in review of project status, including review of contractual status to ensure compliance with contractual terms and milestones and identification of changes in scope in contractsManage the process for change in scope quantifications, preparation of budget and contractamendments and presentation and negotiation with clientsEnsure timely and accurate completion of relevant databases (ClientLink, client tracking tools,PMED, etc.)Customize Parexel templates to meet client template requirementsParticipate in the development and testing of tools and proceduresParticipation in study start-up meetingsQualificationsSkillsAbility to:Lead internal strategy meetingsLead negotiations with client for assigned Asset/Project loadConfident to deal with all internal and external staff levelsExcellent negotiation skillsExcellent numeracy skillsExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsGood knowledge of cash flow and revenue recognitionInterpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects requiredAbove average organizational skills and attention to detail also requiredKnowledge of MS Office, Excel and windows-based E-mail systemsExtensive use of telephone and face-to-face communicationsComprehensive knowledge of relevant software: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, DatabasesMust be a team player adhering to departmental, as well as, corporate guidelines and standardoperating procedures, respectivelyStrong Leadership skillsExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenEducationJuris Doctorate Degree or Graduate degree in Business or Life SciencesLanguage SkillsEnglishMinimum Work ExperienceMinimum of 3 years work experience, preferably 1-2 years in one or more of the following environments: Proposal Development, Contract Administration, Clinical Contracting;Pharmaceutical Contracting; Legal (Paralegal).Alternatives: A combination of work experience and education may substitute for some requirementsin each qualification area.EEO DisclaimerParexel is an equal opportunity employer.  Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to legally protected status, which in the US includes race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
