To provide laboratory & technical support for Clinical Pharmacology Studies in accordance with agreed protocols, and the principles of International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP), and where required to comply with the principles of GLP. To ensure all staff working in the laboratory comply with appropriate safe practices and that COSHH and HASAW regulations and guidelines are followed. To arrange for the care, maintenance and repair of the Unit’s clinical, laboratory and scientific equipment, ensuring that it is calibrated and/or tested according to the manufacturer’s instructions and Parexel's policies and that appropriate records are maintained. To arrange for the purchasing of equipment and supplies/consumables as required supporting the needs of ongoing and planned studies and providing best value for money in line with Parexel's budgetary and other financial constraints. To manage a team of laboratory and/or technical staff in order to provide the most cost-effective service whilst keeping labour costs in line with Parexel's budgetary and other financial constraints. QualificationsSkills:Effective people manager and excellent communicator. Highly organised, systematic, thorough and an eye for detail. Can work effectively under pressure. Computer literate. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and Experience:Three - Five years post graduation experience in a laboratory environment with substantial supervisory responsibility. Experience in clinical pathology/microbiology or other patient-care related field advantageous. Usually at least one year experience in a Clinical Pharmacology environment. Education:Science degree or equivalent. Higher degree or qualification advantageous.
