Long Description We are seeking a Director of Finance – Operations for our Safety Assessment site located Tranent, East Lothian.
This role requires leadership, strategic guidance, performance management, team development, financial and management reporting. You are a member of the sites Senior Leadership Team. Critical to success is the ability to support the business on strategic and transactional levels. You understand how “shareholder value “is created. You have experience with running a business and your input is not limited to Finance. You can understand complex business models, implement them, drive change and lead with influence. You are a business partner and understand all key developments at the site not limited to Finance. Youreon site manager is the site leader. You understand the business just as well as him/her.
Responsibilities You are a key member of the site leadership team. Your contribution to the management team goes beyond your finance function Develop local strategic business plans for the business segment consistent with the established corporate goals Consistently drive for revenue and Operating Income growth You are relentless when it comes to delivering your Operating Plan and believe in holding leaders around you accountable also Supervise the business finance team on site Develop, coach and guide your team to continue to expand and grow Develop a strong finance team that can contribute to the success of the Europe region Establish the budget process, set out clear deliverables, timelines, targets, milestones. Work with stakeholders on site Coordinate together with key departments on site the right cadence of meetings, governance and process to correctly estimate revenue Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis on both top line, expenses and capital Develop, implement and analyse commercial and cost analytics, such as standard costings for performance of the business, customers, service line profitability Perform analyses including year-to-year comparisons and margins on new services for forecasting and pricing purposes Drive the execution of the strategic planning and forecasting process. Provide the appropriate comments of variances to plan, forecast and adjust accordingly Develop operating model where costs fluctuate in line with volume movements Assess existing reporting tools/dashboards. Modify, remove, enhance existing infrastructure by way of embracing automation and understanding capabilities of IT systems Use data to drive business decisions at the site. Challenge status quo and drive decisions to benefit the organization regionally Report KPI’s to the group and analyse with operations, the impacts and plan for improvements Perform complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of data Working with Corporate Accounting, EU Shared service centre, Executive Director of Finance Europe and Internal Audit staff to ensure site is in adherence to corporate governance standards
Qualifications Independent and confident with the ability to work in ambiguity, make decisions both detailed and strategical level at the same time A true business leader that is boundaryless when it comes to Value Creation A degree in finance or related discipline (business school or university) Excellent command of English both written and oral, second language an advantage Ability to work independently and make rational strategic and routine decisions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Willingness to travel Knowledge of IT systems and SAP
