Parexel is looking to hire a Senior Vice President and Global CNS Franchise Leader to join our Global Medical Services organization. This role will report into the Executive Vice President, Chief Medical & Scientific Officer.
The Global CNS Franchise Leader will be responsible for growing Parexel’s Global CNS franchise by building their own franchise, leading teams and creating and implementing a winning strategy in the CNS space. CNS franchise includes the following therapeutic areas: Psychiatry, Neurology and Pain.
In addition to setting the strategic direction and leading the team, the Global CNS Franchise Leader will provide medical and scientific leadership both internally and externally (with clients) in support of Parexel’s overall strategy and objectives. This includes delivering medical and scientific expertise to clients and colleagues from other departments in the areas of business development, study design/optimization, and overall development strategies.
Expectation is that significant portion of the individuals time will be spent in a client facing capacity and new business awarded in the CNS space will be a key performance metric. Day-to-day responsibilities will include working with and advising clients / pharmaceutical companies on medical strategies and innovations that inform company direction and interacting directly with senior leaders at clients / pharmaceutical companies to build relationships and advance collaboration.
The Global CNS Franchise Leader will differentiate Parexel in the CNS space by leading our CNS team in the creating and implementation of a winning strategyTeam will include section heads for Psychiatry, Neurology and Pain respectively. The successful candidate will appoint these individualsReports will include; All MDs in the CNS franchise, all will report via a dotted line into the franchise (solid reporting is regional)
QualificationsDesired experience and education this individual will bring includes the followingCNS background; experience in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson highly desiredName recognition in the Psychiatry spaceProven and applied expertise in clinical drug development at a senior level position, in the CRO and/or Pharmaceutical industry. Would also entertain Academia or Non-ProfitPrior academic/clinical patient care experience within the TAExperience in clinical research, as an investigator or sub-investigator; laboratory research in TA related topics preferred but not mandatoryExperience with relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines for drug developmentProven ability to work well with small teams, often under significant time constraintsEstablished presentation/teaching skillsFluent in English, with excellent writing skillsBusiness acumen, with understanding of financial and marketing principlesPublications in peer-reviewed literature on TA-related topicsAdvanced medical, scientific and / or commercial degree(s) with relevant CNS experience
