Senior Director, IT Clinical Development

Build and manage a team of high performing engineering, support and Business Delivery Leads, capable of providing robust state of the art technology solutions to the Clinical Development business, based on a clear understanding of the true needs of the business provided by the Business Analysis function. Solutions can range from low code (e.g. Powerapps), RPA, BPM, or configuration, implementation & integration of best in class commercial solutions.

Manage the Business Delivery Lead (BDL) function for assigned business sectors of Clinical Development, including having accountability for total IT service quality to the assigned business. BDLs have accountability for proactive identification of high risk areas of IT services provided to assigned business, in addition to strategic planning for the future.

Provide the voice of IT in Business Strategy development, defining a rolling three-year roadmap for assigned business.

Train and mentor more junior engineering staff in both domain knowledge (Clinical Development expertise), or development & support process and technology understanding.

Act as an IT lead and/or Business Delivery Lead for projects or sectors of the business requiring very senior level engagement, employing a consulting skillset to make sure provided requirements are well understood, and can be turned into robust and high-performing technology solutions.

With a continuous improvement mindset, refine processes and templates to help make the Software Development and support process as efficient as possible, while achieving the goal of being as clear as possible for the engineers to understand the features, functions and behaviors of the required solutions.

Chair workshops and design, build and implementation sessions, of multi-disciplinary teams to provide high value solutions to the business, in close collaboration with Solution Owners from the business.

Build Human Factors Engineering (HFE) into new solutions, emphasizing the important of the human to system interface, with the goal to make the technology enablers as simple to use as possible for the end users.Qualifications• Demonstrated deep understanding of;

o Modern engineering & system support best practices

o Consulting toolsets & behaviors

o Clinical trials / studies, and the variation in need from Phase I through Phase IV

o Computer System Validation best practices (SDLC)

o Project Lifecycle best practices (PLC)
