Responsible for optimizing site performance via management of a portfolio of projects focused on eliminating waste, improving customer experience, enhancing quality, reducing risk, and maximizing financial gains via the use of Lean/Six Sigma (LSS) andProject Management methodologies. Collaborates with and supports Project Manager of Process Improvement and site leadership in the identication, tracking and execution of key projects. Responsible for initiating and assuming leadership of selected business improvement projects that support operational excellence, growth, and other key strategic initiatives. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Identify process improvement opportunities impacting revenue, costs and business risk. Lead projects to solve key business issues and implement targeted solutions using LSS problem-solving methodologies and other tools as appropriate. Support project teams in creation and documentation of process mapping activities. Implement and maintain a tool aimed at tracking project status, deliverables, and cost savings/benefits. Monitor projects post-implementation to ensure sustainability of solutions and to confirm predicted benefits and cost savings. Ensure appropriate resources are acquired, scheduled and utilized. Develop a suite of key metricsillustrating progress against both individual projects and overall site goals. Perform cost-benefit analyses, capture cost savings, and validate benefits related to selected projects. Network with experts at other sites and around the organization to establish and share best practice. Serve as a change agent, build and motivate teams, and foster positive relationships with and among team members.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related discipline. Experience: 1-3 years of successful process improvement project experience applying lean six sigma methodology and/or project management experience. One year of experience with Charles River is preferred. Certification/Licensure: Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt in DMAIC, Lean or Design for Six Sigma methodologies. Demonstrated project management skills and ability to deliver results. Demonstrated ability to innovate and to effectively lead and communicate at all levels Comfortable with mathematical concepts.
