Klinikum der Universitaet Muenchen is recruiting patients for the clinical trial of German Registry for Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Interventions.

The LMU Klinikum (Klinikum der Universität München) is recruiting patients for the clinical trial of German Registry for Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Interventions.

This is a multicentre study of patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation and interventional treatment.

Severe tricuspid regurgitation occurs in around 1.5 % of men and 5.6 % of women and it is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Current guidelines recommend cardiac surgery, especially in those patients who are undergoing left side valve surgery. Nevertheless many patients are not eligible for surgical tricuspid valve repair due to an high risk of mortality. Therefore interventional devices for treatment of tricuspid regurgitation have been established to offer these patients an alternative treatment option. The aim of this study is to analyse the success and saftey aspects of different interventional repair techniques for severe tricuspid regurgitation. Therefore in this prospectively designed observational study clinical, echocardiographic and laboratory parameters will be collected.

The indicative completion of the clinical trial will be expected in December 31, 2030.

Among primary outcome measures are the all-cause death and heart failure hospitalisation 1 year after transcatheter tricuspid valve treatment (TTVT).

The patients that can be enrolled into this study include the patients with severe symptomatic tricuspid regurgitation, who are not eligible for cardiac surgery due to a high risk of mortality.

Heart and Diabetes Center North Rhine-Westphalia, Heart Center Leipzig - University Hospital, Mainz University, Universitätsklinikum Köln and University Hospital, Essen are collaborators in this study.

The study will take place at the Klinikum der LMU Muenchen, Munich, Germany.

The LMU Klinikum (until 2020 Klinikum der Universität München) is the merged hospital complex of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, including the Campus Innenstadt in the city center and the Campus Großhadern in Hadern. The hospital houses more than 2000 beds with 48 clinics, institutes and departments, making it is one of the largest hospitals in Europe. In 2015, the Ludwig Maximilian University was ranked the leading German University in the subject area "Clinical, pre-clinical and health" according to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking.
