In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".</p> <p><span class="TextRun Highlight BCX0 SCXW237946867"><span class="NormalTextRun BCX0 SCXW237946867">The Serology (Diagnostic Immunology) Department, located within the Center for Esoteric Testing, offers a comprehensive menu of antibody testing methods for diagnosing and monitoring treatment of diseases. Assays performed in the in our department utilize a variety of scientific techniques including EIA, IFA, and other non-automated and automated procedures for Autoimmune and Infectious Disease testing.  </span></span></p> <p><strong>The work schedule for this position will be 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 4pm-12:30am)</strong></p> <p><strong>Job Duties/Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Assist with processing of specimens when needed</li> <li><span style="font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment</li> </ul>
