  Job Summary  

The Multi-Cloud Solutions Architect will work as part of the Global Technology Cloud Services team to architect and deliver modern cloud solutions to support our business. Charles River Labs has adopted a cloud-first mindset to leverage the scale, security, and advanced technologies the cloud provides.  This role requires a unique individual with a broad range of technical skills covering infrastructure, application development, data analytics, security as well as strong leadership capabilities. Outcomes directed by this role will have a significant impact on the organization's short and long-term results and strategic business objectives.  This technical leader will be accountable for maturing our multi-cloud portfolio and meeting or exceeding quality and performance expectations.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities      This role will work as part of the Global Technology Cloud Services team to architect and deliver modern cloud solutions to support our global business units      Designs sustainable infrastructure architectures across cloud provider platforms globally      Develop knowledge of internal customer business objectives and map to appropriate cloud design requirements      Support product development teams, global security, and other infrastructure teams around implementation of solutions      Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns based on the application portfolio for deploying services to the cloud      Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.      Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery objectives      Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements      Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations      Develop cloud-based solutions with a focus on cost management (network egress, right-sizing resources, storage tiering, etc)      Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts      Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems      Promote strategic plans for Cloud adoption across the organization

  Job Qualifications

       Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science or related discipline      10+ years of enterprise architecture experience, with a focus on cloud computing, container, and API technologies      Extensive experience implementing solutions within AWS and Azure      Experience in delivering cloud infrastructure solutions to support microservice based applications      Experience with CI/CD, containers, container orchestration, APIs      Working knowledge of all infrastructure domains including data centers, networks, storage, servers, service monitoring and end user computing      Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation, ARM, Python)      Experience delivering projects through an agile framework      Architect certifications from leading Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)      Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate up through senior leadership      Demonstrate teamwork, positive attitude and good rapport with peers and customers.      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment      An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
