Start Up Manager in Clinical Operations - France

As a Line Manager at PPD, you will select, train, coachand manage staff across study start up and, potentially, the wider clinical department. You will focuson endresults using metrics and key performance indicators to manage performance. You may also lead or contribute to initiatives

that enhance the department's performance or lead to process improvement across PPD. Responsibilities include: Direct line management of a team (up to 15 staff, mainlyaccross SSU and potentially Clinical) Managestart-up and monitoring activities and may act as the lead for an area of focus. Provideinput based on expertise/experience to internal customers resulting in internal/external customer satisfaction. Managethe contractual aspects of studies in collaboration with project teams. Manageoperational delivery by monitoring the progress of studies against the established project plan and coordinating with client sponsors. Ensurethat risks and issues are properly routed and resolved in coordination with other departments and key stakeholders. Developor contributeto local WPDs and leads/participates in process improvement initiatives. Alertmanagement to quality issues and facilitates client and internal quality assurance audits as required. Provideinput into the bidding process and contributes to the procurement of new business. Managethe allocation of staff to projects. Ensureall staff CVs, training records, position profiles and experience profiles are complete and up to date.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a life science related field. Significant clinical research experience (min 5 years) includingexperience in all phases of study life cycle, including start up, interim and close out. Previous linemanagement experience is essential Experience managing staff across start up and clinical departmentsis beneficial

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent mentoring/leadership/supervisory skills Strong knowledge of SSU process in France, including EC & Regulatorysubmissions Advanced knowledge of clinical trials monitoring; Remote and on-site (beneficial) Demonstrated ability to evaluate medical research data Strong organizational and negotiation skills Strong attention to detail Effective written and oral communication skills Good knowledge of English language and grammar Ability to travel as needed Excellent team player with team building skills Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques applicable to constantly changing environment Solid knowledge of medical/therapeutic areas and medical terminology
