Data Analytics is an integral part of PPD’s risk-based monitoring strategy, driving centralized monitoring efforts through a new approach to risk surveillance and centralized statistical monitoring. This approach combines the power of statistical and analytical tools with expertise from operationally experienced staff to analyze and monitor clinical trial data. Data Analytics’ staff (CMAs) holistically explore study data to pinpoint meaningful signals, resulting in more efficient and effective resolution of issues and a proactive approach to risk detection. Using this data driven approach, study teamsare able toquickly address systemic problems or site performance, directing remediation activities where needed, and positioning on-site monitoring activity in a targeted approach.

Data analytics is an integral part of PPD’s risk-based monitoring (RBM) strategy and supports centralized monitoring efforts.Ongoing data assessments from our data analytics group allows to adaptmonitoring plans dynamically so that CRAs can focus on the factors that have the greatest impact on data integrity and subject safety.Regardless of thepercentage of source data verification (SDV), the data analytics group'scentralized statistical monitoring approach identifies risksignals that may be difficult to detect through traditional review methods, such as on-site monitoring.

Data analytics evaluates data within and across studies, sites, countries and regions.Our analytic approach provides insight into: Data errors, deviations. Trends, outliers. Unusual variation (or lack of variation). Potential data manipulation, fraud. Other systematic errors or data integrity issues.

Summarized Purpose:

Provides tactical and strategic planning, operational oversight, support and direct supervision of the CMA and Lead CMAfunctionswithin Data Analytics. Works closely with functional area leads to evaluate signals of operational risk at various levels and be an adovcate for risk mitigation strategies.

Essential Functions:

Project oversight, including production, quality, financial management.

Resource management and planning.

Client and Functional team participation, risk escalation.

Manage tools and analytical processes to detect, investigate, diagnose, and mitigate risk within clinical trials more efficiently and accurately from a global perspective.

Develop and manage project and program-specific risk analysis plans, analyze operational and patient clinical trial data to identify and characterize issues and trends that can be indicators of project risk and manage high impact escalations.

Broad trend and risk investigation, process improvements.

Support implementation of departmental and cross-functional initiatives.

May represent the department in meetings.

Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
