In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking a Project Manager 1 for our Insourcing Solitions site located in Bethesda, MD.

The following are responsibilities related to the Project Manager 1:

•Oversees consistent practices of general company and customer’s safety policies and procedures.

•Ensures maintenance of all aquatic support equipment.

•Works with the Project Manager 3 in evaluating operational needs and makes recommendations to enhance efficiency.

•Oversees colony management and husbandry support for aquatic species such as fish, frogs and any other aquatic or semi-aquatic species that may be utilized in biomedical research in the NIH Aquatic Facilities.

•Oversees the LARC 1 QC Quality Teams: scheduling, collecting findings for QC/QA reports and deliverables, and generating resolutions including training plans for observations of non-conformance.

•Prepares and submits required written records, charts, logs and inventories as requested by Project Manager or customer.

•Manages assigned animal care staff to ensure the proper inventory, care, feeding and delivery of animals, sanitation of the equipment and facilities, the procurement and storage of supplies and the maintenance of related equipment and facilities.

•Develops the animal care weekend and holiday schedule to ensure that animal care is provided.

•Monitors performance of employees and conducts periodic performance evaluations.

•Initiates requests/scheduling of the facility maintenance and all equipment to ensure proper maintenance, sanitation and operation.

•Assists in assessing training needs, as well as, developing and presenting training for staff.

•Ensures that detailed, accurate records and files are maintained on regulated species as required by animal welfare regulations and guidelines.

•Develops, writes and implements standard operating procedures.

•Prepares and submits required written records, charts, logs and inventories as requested by your supervisor or customer.

•Participates in the on-call rotation with the Project Manager 3.

•Interacts with client representatives to facilitate the resolution of problems related to the allocation of space, use of equipment, efficient use of personnel, diagnosis of and control of disease, provisions of animal care and adequate veterinary care.

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Project Manager 1position:

Education: AA in related field required. BS in Biological Science or related Science preferred.

LATG required if no AA degree or higher.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience in a large scope aquatics facility to include staff and project management responsibility or minimum of three (3) years leadership experience in a large scope aquatics facility providing day to day direction, oversight of task performance and assignments and coaching.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experiences listed above.

Certification/Licensure: AALAS Certification at the LAT level required. LATG level preferred.
