Job Summary We are seeking a Sr Accountant, Technical Accountingfor ourCorporate site located Wilmington MA.The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for researching technical accounting matters and assisting in the development of policies to support compliance with regulatory standards. Assist in the implementation of new accounting guidance issued by FASB or the SEC, including researching and documenting the proper accounting and reporting application.

The following are responsibilities related to the Sr Accountant, Technical Accounting: Research accounting literature and apply technical standards to complex business issues and transactions, including revenue recognition, business combinations, investments, leases, impairment valuations, inventory, tax, stock-based compensation, pensions, and VIE assessments. Communicated and engage with external specialist (e.g., goodwill/intangible assets valuations and pensions) during valuation exercises to ensure assets and liabilities are fair valued appropriately. Draft accounting and financial reporting position papers for review by management and external auditors. Assist in the implementation of new accounting guidance issued by FASB or the SEC, including researching and recommending the proper accounting and reporting application. Assist in technical accounting research and resolving internal technical accounting issues. Perform contract review and collaborate with other departments to ensure all aspects of the contract are appropriately accounted for. Identify sustainable strategic improvements, suggest corrective actions, coordinate implementation and track efficiencies achieved. Assist in updating and implementing accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in the Company’s business, and SEC/GAAP regulations. Identify improvements that will positively impact corporate success and fully comply with objectives and regulations. Provide support during the quarter/year end close to the External Reporting team. Communicate with external auditors on areas worked upon to ensure conclusions reached in a timely manner. Assist in the performance of internal control activities (e.g., SOX compliance). Perform ad-hoc accounting analysis and projects and other related duties as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned.

The following are minimum requirements related to the Sr Accountant, Technical Accounting position: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in accounting or related discipline. Three (3) years related experience with at least two of the required years with a national or regional CPA firm and/or commercial company; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific experience.
