Summarized Purpose:

Responsible for the overall management and performance of all areas of the Research Sites Operations within a designated region (EMEA/AMERICAS or APAC). Oversees and manage the delivery of the territories. Interacts with Executive management of operations, medical operations as well as business development to meet corporate business goals. Accountable for the organisations operational success by ensuring financial targets are met, clients are satisfied, services are provided with the highest quality standards, policies and procedures are followed and development of staff for career progression.

· Mentors senior directors and directors to reach next level of leadership

· Builds the infrastructure to support growth of site operations within a geographical areas.

· Ensures the timely execution of clinical trials with a focus on quality deliverables

· Responsible for hiring, promotional, and disciplinary action activities.

· Oversees the delivery of studies to ensure revenue goals are achieved.

· Interacts with Business Development for scheduling purposes and to drive business into the unit. Travels to client companies for business development opportunities. Participates in industry conferences per year for the purpose of solidifying client relationships and bringing in new business

· Interacts with clients to ensure client satisfaction, addresses quality and regulatory issues

· Collaborates with BD on presentation, proposals and bids, developing new contacts and leads and encourages expansion of exiting business

· Provides long range strategic planning, development of departmental business plan and budget, including all capital and staff resources and expenses

· Tracks study revenue on a weekly/monthly basis with finance to ensure accurate revenue is captured. Works with Sr. Management team on an ongoing basis to develop and implement yearly business plan goals and objectives

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10 to 15 years).

5 to 10 years of management responsibility

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Thorough knowledge of all aspects of the drug development process, specifically Phase I

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent negotiation skills

· Excellent management and interpersonal skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools

· Ability to motivate large numbers of employees through stressful situations

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks within all levels of the clinical environment

Management Role:

Manager role with significantly larger management scope (e.g. global or regional responsibilities or multiple departments) OR mastery of manager skills and responsibilities as demonstrated by consistent, multi-year successful performance. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by executive management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees.
