PPD’s Biotech Operations group is a global team organized by regional alignment with our commercial organization. We partner directly with our clients to manage the relationship and support delivery of projects from study start-up through close-out activities. In short, you are a crucial piece in earning the trust of our clients.

As a Biotech Portfolio Lead, you will provide strategic direction across all therapeutic areas and other divisions across PPD to ensure a customized biotech delivery model that is most effective for biotech clients. This position provides consultation, direction, and leadership to functional leads and employees to ensure operational excellence and manage the client relationship to ensure success.

Responsibilities: Partners globally with other group to develop new business and to deliver existing business Partners with cross functional leadership on the continuous development and improvement of business processes to support teams and to ensure that work is uniform, complete, and managed appropriately Collaborates with the Biotech leadership team and other senior, therapeutic area, geography and functional lead colleagues to enable oversight of operational performance, resourcing, financial health/strategy, and business planning and execution Assists in business development activities, representing PPD biotech at bid defenses, ensuring realization of the PPD biotech vision

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/ vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 15 years)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expert financial acumen Excellent judgement and decision making capability with ability to apply critical and analytical thinking skills and manage complex/ambiguous situations Exceptional interpersonal skills and influencing at all levels, including the capability to build strong relationships in a matrix organization Capable of building a strong network of influential people Expert knowledge of project management principles and application Expert knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and resource management Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines and directives Mastery of process improvement techniques Effective in working across geographies and cultures Capable of developing and executing strategic plans through leveraging relationships and influencing other through strategic thinking
