Job Profile Summary

In accordance with Q2 Solutions  Transnational corporate safety and security program, the Associate, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Director will be responsible to lead and oversee the day-to-day management/implementation of site EHS policies and programs to provide a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace for a business division or geographic region. Position provides subject matter expertise to senior management within a business division or across divisions within a specific geographic region, including requirements needed to conform to local EHS legislation and company procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Lead EHS programs across a specific geographical region to ensure compliance with Q2 Solutions Corporate EHS policies as well as applicable environmental, health and safety regulatory obligations (e.g., US OSHA, UK HSE).
  • Champion site projects within the region to achieve site and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that EHS programs are assessed for prioritized risks in line with business unit/global business objectives.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented in response to corporate, sponsor and site audits and reviews.
  • Lead efforts to streamline and strengthen Q2 Solutions’ EHS management within a region to ensure world-class results by promoting knowledge sharing and a strong EHS culture.
  • Liaise with applicable local/state/provincial agency on issues related to EHS at the sites within the region.
  • Maintain a current knowledge to ensure the sites within the region are compliant with applicable EHS regulatory obligations as they apply to the sites and best practices related to EHS.
  • Work with senior site management to ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken on identified health, safety and environmental hazards or potential hazards. Ensure sites within the region are compliant with regulatory requirements and reporting with corresponding agencies.
  • Interface and manage EHS aspects of staff assigned with EHS responsibilities throughout the region (e.g., EHS Representatives).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or safety related field, 10 years’ relevant experience including in a site EHS role and of working with regulatory agencies, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Good knowledge of the relevant local EHS regulations, international EHS management systems (e.g. ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) and how they apply to sites and functions within region
  • Good knowledge of corporate standards and policies
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable effective
  • interaction/communication with management at many levels
  • Effective leadership abilities
  • Comfortable presenting and training in large and small groups (training/presentation, communication with site management)
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Safety Professional and or Certified Industrial Hygienist, or equivalent certification (e.g., Grad IOSH)
