In addition, the position will be responsible for managing, developing, training, and maintaining competencies for staff associated with the area of focus. This is a fast paced, production like, customer-focused, and challenging environment.</p> <p>The schedule for this position will be: Tuesday-Saturday 5:00pm-1:30am</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The following duties reflect key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Manage the daily operations of assigned area to ensure specimens are properly shipped, received, and accessioned accurately and efficiently in a timely manner.</li> <li>Monitor daily workflow, plan and schedule for adequate coverage, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.</li> <li>Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary.</li> <li>Directly supervise and mentor non-technical staff in the department.</li> <li>Assist with the hiring of qualified, enthusiastic employees.</li> <li>Monitor time tracking system for employees and ensure attendance expectations are being met; process and maintain payroll and personnel files.</li> <li>Engage in continuous process and service improvement</li> <li>Assist with monitoring sample progression and respond to sample status inquiries from other areas of the laboratory.</li> <li>Meet regularly with direct reports. Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and career development discussions.</li> <li>Write and deliver performance reviews and build a positive team environment.</li> <li>Adhere to SOP's and ensure others are in adherence; write, update, and maintain all department documents.</li> <li>Trouble shoot as needed and act as a point of escalation and a subject matter expert for the area.</li> <li>Complete all documentation accurately and neatly; monitor the work of employees to ensure accuracy and completeness.</li> <li>Perform training as needed and maintain all competency documentation.</li> <li>Work with manager to determine staffing needs of the department.</li> <li>Perform administrative duties as needed</li> </ul> </div><p><span style="font-size: 8.0pt;font-family: "lucida sans";"><strong>Requirements:</strong></span></p><ul> <li> <p>Required Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Associates or Bachelor's degree a plus</li> <li>Minimum 2-years relevant experience</li> <li>Prior supervisory or leadership experience a plus</li> <li>Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures is preferred</li> <li>Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office; type a minimum of 11,000 KPH.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills necessary to deal effectively with direct reports and clients; both written and verbal.</li> <li>High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills</li> <li>Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment</li> <li>Ability to relate professionally with people, analytical abilities, time management, train employees, and supervisory skills.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast paced production environment to meet established turn-around-times; ability to handle the physical requirements of the position</li> <li>Must be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
