The Senior Project Manager Site Consultancy Services Specialist for the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible to work closely with the Field Service Operations team and customer with the goal of delivering the Site Preparation Packages Consultancy Services.

This role is essential in developing relationships with key third party suppliers to support future growth of the SCS business. This includes familiarity with building trades such as HVAC, MEP along with reviewing construction drawings to and providing needed feedback the ThermoFisher Scientific customers. The purpose is to help the customers achieve site success, by ensuring the site is ready for the system install and free from environmental disturbances.

What will you do?

  • Lead the APJ Site Preparation Consultancy Projects ensuring all the requirements are met and customer signoff is acquired.
  • Champion positive relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service.
  • Engage closely with the Subject Matter Experts, Field Service Engineers, and Field Service Managers to ensure customer all the information they need to achieve site readiness success.
  • Works towards growing Site Consultancy as a business
  • Support Field Service teams as the primary point of contact for the customers’ site related questions and concerns, on Site Consultancy projects.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental resources ensuring completion of the program, regional alignment, and implementation.
  • Applying PPI Business system, A3 Thinking, 5 Whys and GEMBA to support the regional field service organization.
  • Up to 30% travel required

Minimum Qualifications:

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer/project manager looking for an opportunity to be part of a dynamic & diverse team in an environment where they will apply their skills to a variety of customer applications, system issues as well as site challenges.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or equivalent combined with experience solving complex system issues and installing high-end, capital equipment which are highly impacted by environmental factors.

Experience with multidisciplinary and multicultural project management.

3 or more years demonstrated ability performing customer site evaluations for high end, capital equipment.

Proven experience in solving complicated site & system issues. This will include identifying problem frequencies, locating the sources and providing mitigation techniques or options.

Strong technical report writing skills.

A proven understanding of Vibration, Acoustics, EMI and other environmental factors.

A solid understanding of the most common sources of environmental factors and be able to make mitigation recommendations.

Strong data analysis skills

Experience with AutoCAD is a plus

Requires good judgement and lateral thinking to develop solutions to problems.

Strong ability to communicate at all levels effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers

Good skills in persuading, inspiring, developing, and motivating are required.

Must have ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
