Job Summary

The Product Owner will be an advocate for Agile mindsets, behaviors and processes.  The Product Owner role is an essential member of multiple cross-functional teams as part of the Global Technology Infrastructure organization. The primary goal of a Product Owner is to represent the internal and external customers to the team they represent. A key activity is to lead both innovations supporting the Agile team and future product development that impacts the customer experience within and outside of CRL. The Product Owner oversees these related projects, directs key information and strategic decision making for the subspecialty, and communicates to those in the organization necessary for managing the product backlog, or the prioritized list of requirements for future product development.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Leading a product team in the area of digital platforms, data mgmt., API, integration, monitoring, operating systems or platforms • Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements • Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals • Identifying product development potential based on technological developments and ongoing identification of potential product extensions • Taking responsibility for delivering products in accordance with their targets • Monitoring relevant product KPIs, and initiating and managing promotional activities based on development • Identifying synergies and addressing interdependencies with other product teams • Involving all relevant stakeholders in decision-making processes • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Degree in computer science/Business Informatics or related field • Experience with enterprise technologies • Proficiency in coaching and mentoring • Experience with public cloud providers like AWS and/or Azure • Experience with (organizational) change management • Experience conveying current technology trends (e.g., AI and grid computing); excellent feel for exceptional user experiences and design Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation, ARM, Python) • Experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager with software products • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and experience in Agile methodologies • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate up through senior leadership • Demonstrate teamwork, positive attitude and good rapport with peers and customers. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Experience working in a research environment a plus
