We are seeking aLab Technician IIfor ourLab Productionsite located inStorrs, CT. The Lab Technician II will process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, animal products, and microbial cultures; produces antigens and reagents; prepare buffers, media, and solutions.

TheLab Technician IIwill be responsible for the following: Work with chickens and assist with animal husbandry. Assist in daily work assignments. Process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, animal products, and microbial cultures . Produce antigens and reagents (viruses, mycoplasma and microbial organisms) . Prepare media, buffers, and solutions. Filter and processes antiserum. Bottle and package products for final sale. Complete documentation for licensed and non-licensed products. Perform housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and glassware preparation. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Maintain own training file.

The following are Minimum Requirements for the Laboratory Technician IIposition: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience.

The following are Preferred Qualifications related to theLab Technician IIposition, but are not required to be considered for this position: Experience in a production or manufacturing laboratory. Degree in Animal Science or Biology.
